Josiah was raised in Monticello and attended Monticello High School. He received his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Fitness Management with a minor in Biology from Wartburg College in 2007. He then completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Clarke University in 2011.

Josiah has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in the past. Josiah is currently certified in Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (ASTYM) by Performance Dynamics for treatment of soft tissue injuries, as well as certified in LSVT BIG for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders.

Josiah lives in town with his wife Rachel and their daughters Avery and Hannah. When not working Josiah likes being outdoors; hiking, biking, camping and fly fishing.
